Maison Respire, a new luxury loungewear brand dedicated to conscious living, has officially launched its debut collection featuring exquisite garments made from banana silk. Founded by Rina Saleh, the brand is the culmination of a philosophy rooted in one core truth: that luxury and ethics are not mutually exclusive. Maison Respire offers thoughtful, high-end pieces for daily movement and quiet reflection, embodying a commitment to mindful craftsmanship and sustainability.

The Luxury of Banana Silk

The collection establishes a new standard for sustainable textiles with its use of handcrafted banana silk. This material, derived from banana stems, is a naturally luxurious, vegan, and biodegradable fiber. Historically, this unique textile was refined into fabrics like the esteemed bashA?fu in Japan and reserved for the robes of royalty and samurais. Today, it offers a rare balance of strength and softness, while providing functional benefits: it's naturally breathable, antibacterial, biodegradable, temperature-regulating, and gentle on the skin. These organic garments are consciously designed to move effortlessly from private sanctuary to the outside world.

A Harmonious Debut

The brand debuted on October 7 at the Banyan Tree Hotel’s Jardin restaurant in Doha through a unique collaboration with renowned Qatari composer, Dana Alfardan. The partnership mirrored the brand’s mission of promoting consciousness and interconnectedness, as Alfardan presented the collection alongside three evocative pieces from her recent album, Indigo —"Crystalline," "Heliodore," and "Stillness" —accompanied by live violinists.

The launch event, an exclusive afternoon tea attended by Qatari influencers and media, was a holistic feast for the senses, seamlessly blending music, fashion, gastronomy, and environmental responsibility.

Maison Respire invites consumers to embrace luxury that is kind to both the wearer and the planet.
