Mondrian Doha, Qatar’s luxurious and award-winning hotel, announces a series of exciting events taking place at its premises in celebration of the festive season. The events are due to run from 28th November 2019 until 31 January 2020.
As part of its celebrations, Mondrian Doha’s CUT by Wolfgang Puck has kicked off the festivities by hosting a spectacular Thanksgiving brunch and dinner on the 28th and 29th of November. To mark the special occasion, friends and family got together and shared a new and exciting culinary experience. CUT’s menu highlighted a new focus on family style dinning, reflecting the warm and inviting hospitality of Qatar and the true values of Thanksgiving.
Continuing to deliver exceptional and unique culinary experiences, CUT by Wolfgang Puck will host an enchanting “Christmas Eve Dinner” on the 24th of December. Mondrian guests will be able to enjoy a traditional Christmas as they relish their meals in CUT’s sprawling terrace overlooking the Arabian Sea. The terrace recently opened for the winter season, giving visitors the chance to enjoy a combination of a spectacular view and soothing weather.
To make this an unforgettable Christmas, the celebrations continue as CUT brings its guests a new family-style “Christmas Brunch” on December 25th. The Christmas Day brunch will feature live DJ entertainment and performances. The restaurant will also offer a diverse menu that includes handmade pasta and dessert stations. For families brunching in CUT, the restaurant offers a “Kids Club” around Mondrian’s Floating Staircase, where children can enjoy their time.
On New Year's Eve, Mondrian Doha will be transforming its wonderlands to become the arena of choice for both dining and entertainment lovers. The hotel will be introducing a theme to each of its venues. Following its embodiment of a rustic and industrial brewery, Hudson Tavern will adopt a ‘Jailhouse Rock’ theme, where the burger bar will be designed according to a drama/musical featuring Elvis. The decoration around the venue will include posters of musical instruments like guitars. The Tavern will also be equipped to provide visitors a celebratory welcome to the new year, with a live band and DJ performing until 2:00 am.
The first eponymous Morimoto in the Middle East and the much-loved brand in Doha will bring the Japanese theme to life in celebration of the new year. The world acclaimed restaurant will elevate the guests’ experience with a Kimono & Geisha themed New Year’s Eve. Guest slots will be available from 6:00 pm to 8:45 pm and from 9:00 pm till closing.
Finally, celebrating the new year, CUT will feature a New York City theme where visitors will witness a glamorous countdown around the Floating Staircase. The 5-course meal evening, which is inspired by classics from New York, will be accompanied by an entertaining Jazz band performance with a Saxophonist, Pianist, as well as a DJ at midnight to transform the venue to a world of wonders.
Celebrating the festive spirits, Wael Maatouk, General Manager at Mondrian Doha, stated: “We are very excited to exceed our guests’ expectations this winter and provide them with a diverse selection of dining and entertainment options across Mondrian. We also look forward to a successful 2020 ahead. The success witnessed this year would not have been made possible without the leadership of the sbe management and the team’s hard work. It is due to their efforts that Mondrian Doha is continuously diversifying its offering to cater to the wide variety of visitors. We would like to thank everyone for their support and invite you to join us for this season’s celebrations.”
Mondrian Doha has recently hosted a variety of superstars, including world-renowned American singer, Katy Perry and winner of regional and global entertainment awards, Lebanese artist, Elissa. The five-star hotel has also hosted Colombian singer Maluma in its premises. This wave of famous personalities has come as part of Qatar Airways’ (QA) and Qatar National Tourism Council’s (QNTC) ‘Qatar Live’ — a series of music concerts and festivals taking place in Doha from 5 to 19 December 2019. The events have been organised to align with the 24th Arabian Gulf Cup Qatar 2019 (November 26 to December 8) and the FIFA Club World Cup Qatar 2019 (December 11 to 21) to provide world-class entertainment for football fans, visitors, and local residents.
Mondrian Doha is witnessing a rapid rate of growth and development. The five-star hotel celebrated its second-year anniversary in 2019, marking a month-long celebration in light of the achievements it has accomplished since its opening in 2017. The year also saw the appointment of a new General Manager, Wael Maatouk, which has been guiding the Mondrian vision towards excellence through developing new policies, strategically implementing new initiatives and coordinating staff in all departments, while adhering to regulatory requirements.
The hotel has progressed forward in its mission to support the arts and culture scene in Qatar, through bolstering a fruitful partnership with Dana Al Fardan, as the ‘Exclusive Hotel Partner’ for the debut of 'Broken Wings' musical in Doha. Additionally, Mondrian Doha has also recently sponsored the ‘Grazia Style Awards’ 2019 as ‘Hotel Partner’. The awarding ceremony is an annual event that celebrates key people in the community for their contribution to fashion in the region and beyond.
